High-Performance Flexible Floor Coverings for Sports Complex Floors

What matters most in sports flooring isn’t its appearance, but its shock absorption rate, which reduces the strain on athletes’ joints. Training on a hard surface increases the risk of knee and ankle injuries.

For the gym project we completed, we selected a sports vinyl with a flexible base suitable for multipurpose use. The floor meets the ball bounce requirements necessary for both basketball and volleyball.

The court lines were not painted onto the floor afterward; they were embedded into the material. Painted lines wear off within a few seasons due to shoe friction; embedded lines do not suffer such wear.

Following the complex’s opening, positive feedback regarding the surfaces was received from the athletes. Technical evaluations showed that the risk of injury had decreased. Facility management, meanwhile, was pleased with how easy it was to maintain the surfaces.

With this project, Mineteko has added another significant benchmark project to its portfolio in the field of sports surfaces and continues to focus on new projects aimed at sports infrastructure.
